In 2011 River Bend Cemetery more than doubled the size of the riverfront cremation garden. The expansion included an above ground cremation columbarium, octagon in shape and constructed of solid USA granite. People now have the option of in-ground or above ground placement of cremains.

The expansion theme was “Nautical” and includes marine pilings, anchor ropes and a cemetery owned stainless steel and granite sailboat for visitors to sit on and enjoy the natural beauty of the Pawcatuck River.

River Bend Cemetery welcomes all members of our shorefront communities to visit and walk in the cemetery and enjoy our new riverfront features, even if you don’t have loved-ones buried here.
